The Build
New build, modular steel structure
Situated on the shores of Lake Ontario, a custom home whose sharp geometric volumes stand in deliberate contrast to the surrounding landscape.
Designed in collaboration with interior designer Connie Braemer, the house is built around a modular steel structure, using pre-cut and pre-drilled components that deliver unmatched durability, long uninterrupted spans, and minimal site waste. The home rests on a solid slab foundation with radiant floor heating that warms the living spaces from below. Three wings divide the plan into distinct private zones; generous windows and sliding glass doors bathe the interior in natural light and frame unobstructed views of the serene wilderness. An open floor plan unites the kitchen and living area around a stylish fireplace that serves as both focal point and gathering place. 22-foot vaulted ceilings amplify the sense of space, while a minimalist interior design highlights the home's modern character.
Custom cabinetry and millwork run continuously between rooms, each with its own bespoke detail. Automated blinds and lighting, radiant in-floor heating, and ducted heat pumps deliver year-round comfort with a quiet mechanical footprint.
